Young and the Restless viewers have been treated to a whirlwind of love and heartbreak. Among the most controversial storylines of 2025, are the problematic pairings of Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), Chelsea Lawson Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) and Ian Ward (Ray Wise), and Claire Grace Newman (Hayley Erin) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

Y&R showcased Daniel's illicit affair with Tessa, a married woman, and it has left fans frustrated, particularly as it threatens the stability of the only same sex couple in the soap. Chelsea and Adam's lackluster romance has been a snooze fest, leading to calls for head writer Josh Griffith's firing. Nate and Audra's relationship, fraught with lies and manipulation, is equally unsatisfactory. The dangerous liaison between Jordan and Ian has been a disturbing watch, while Claire and Kyle's toxic relationship has been a major letdown.

Young and Restless fans are eager to see how these storylines will play out. Will Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) fight for her marriage? Will Chelsea and Adam inject some excitement into their relationship? Will Nate discover Audra's deceit? As for Jordan and Ian, their reign of terror is hopefully at an end, whilst Claire and Kyle's troubled romance is hoped to be over for good.
